10News is a San Diego, California-based American television news channel. Tegna Inc. owns the station, which first began transmitting on January 10, 1949. The station's studios are in the Downtown district's Media Center, and its transmitter is atop Mount Soledad in La Jolla. It currently transmits 41 hours of local newscasts per week (912 hours on weekdays and 412 hours on weekends), with 912 hours on weekdays and 512 hours on Saturdays and Sundays branded as News 10 San Diego. There are two hour-long evening newscasts at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m.
