What is Discogs Organization?
Discogs is an online marketplace that enables users to buy and sell music. It's a website and crowdsourced database of information about audio recordings, including commercial releases, promotional releases, and bootleg or off-label releases. Discogs was founded in 2000 by Dave Morrish who had developed a CD index system while working at Tower Records. Discogs started as a hobby but soon grew into the largest cataloging service for physical media on the internet with over six million items from five thousand artists in its inventory. As of December 2015, it has been purchased by online retailer eBay Inc., which owns PayPal among other businesses.
