Is FirstNet Down?

FirstNet is a public-private collaboration that builds and administers a countrywide, interoperable broadband network. The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) was established as part of President Obama's signing of the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 on February 22, 2012. The law mandates that FirstNet develop, implement, manage, and maintain a new countrywide broadband network for America's police, firefighters, paramedics, and other emergency responders. At no cost to public safety personnel, FirstNet will design and manufacture devices that work on this new network, including smartphones packed with the network's software applications.
