What is the Grayson Collin EC Organization?

Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative, Inc. (GCE) is a rural electric cooperative in Grayson County, Texas. They provide services to the following, in whole or in part: Grayson, Collin, Fannin, Hunt, Kaufman, and Van Zandt counties are all located in Texas. GCE is a non-profit corporation incorporated under the laws of the state of Texas. In 1937, the cooperative was formed to provide electricity to rural inhabitants in North Central Texas, where there were no power lines at the time. Their service area now encompasses 892 square miles, with a population of over 100,000 people. There are 705 miles of major distribution lines and three substations in their distribution system.
