Founded by Conrad Hilton at May 1919, the company has become directed by Christopher J. Nassetta. Hilton is headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia, U.S. At June 30, 2020, its portfolio comprises 6,215 properties (like timeshare properties) together with 983,465 chambers in 118 countries and lands, such as 690 which are handled and 5,405 which are franchised, together using all the joint managed and franchised properties using a total of 953,946 rooms, along with 65 which are owned or rented including 57 which are completely owned or rented, one possessed by a combined non-wholly owned thing, two which are rented by amalgamated variable interest entities (VIEs) and five which are owned or rented from unconsolidated affiliates. Before the December 2013 IPO, Hilton was rated as the 36th largest privately held firm in America, from Forbes.
