Is Redcross Down?

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an global humanitarian motion with roughly 97 million volunteers, staff and members globally, which was set up to safeguard human life and health, to guarantee respect for all human beings, and also to prevent and relieve human suffering. Within three different organizations which are legally separate from one another, but are combined within the movement through shared fundamental principles, goals, symbols, statutes and regulating organisations, you will find the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), that's a private humanitarian institution founded in 1863 at Geneva, Switzerland, particularly by Henry Dunant and Gustave Moynier. Its 25-member committee has a exceptional authority under global humanitarian law to guard the life and dignity of their victims of internal and international armed conflicts. The ICRC was granted the Nobel Peace Prize on three occasions (in 1917, 1944 and 1963).
